Preferably, film in horizontal mode—not vertical. Horizontal videos are more cinematic and can be easily adapted to vertical later, but vertical cannot be turned into horizontal well.

Find an aesthetically pleasing background and remove any unnecessary objects from the frame. Make your video visually appealing and clean.

Ensure the room is quiet: no music, traffic (close windows and doors to avoid outside noise), or other distractions. Make sure your voice is clear and easy to hear—don’t stand too far from your phone or camera. This ensures your voice and face are recorded clearly.

Ideally, film near a window during the day for natural light. If filming at night, turn on bright lights. Make sure your face is well-lit and looks great on camera.​

When speaking to the camera, look directly into the lens, not somewhere else. This makes the viewer feel like you are talking to them personally. Videos where you appear to be looking off to the side can feel less engaging and less intimate.

Record a short test clip to check:

Record a few seconds before and after speaking, singing, or dancing. This makes editing easier and ensures nothing important is cut off at the start or end.

Testimonial videos shluld be around two minutes long.It’s okay if it’s a little shorter or a little longer. Everyone expresses themselves differently, and that’s perfectly fine. Just keep in mind that very long videos can disrupt the overall rhythm and flow of the final video.
